An architect based in Massachusetts hired me to create as-built plans of a house located in Wainscott, NY. Below is a picture of the house and a brief summary of the project.

As-Built Plans in Wainscott, NY
An architect reached out to me in January of 2023. He needed someone experienced to create as-built floor plans of the house pictured above, so that he could use the drawings as the starting point for his redesign of the space.
I measured this expansive modern farmhouse set on 8.4 acres in the Hamptons. The house included seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and three half bathrooms, along with numerous large social and gathering spaces throughout.
In addition to the main living areas, the property featured a state-of-the-art home theater, a wine cellar, and other specialized spaces that required careful on-site measurements.
The project spanned across four levels totaling 15,500 square feet, which is a large house even by Hamptons standards. Originally the architect only wanted the first and second floors documented. But after I completed those, he asked me to return and document the basement and the roof deck pictured below.
With this many levels, the architect wanted someone experienced to document the house to make sure all levels lined up properly on top of each other.
The stairwells, elevator shaft, exterior walls, and any floor-to-floor shared interior walls all had to align. I’ve been creating as-builts for 18+ years, so this coordination was no problem for me. In the end the architect was pleased with the drawings I created.
This project is representative of my core expertise and showcases the value I provide to architecture clients. It also reflects the type of high-end residential properties I typically survey.
