I provide millwork drafting services. Which means people hire me to create millwork shop drawings for their custom woodworking designs. In this blog post I’ll highlight a millwork drafting services project I did for the CFA Society New York. 
The architect’s contract Sheet A-702.00 includes CAFE 1028 – NORTH ELEVATION, CAFE 1028 – EAST ELEVATION, CAFE 1028 – WEST ELEVATION, CAFE 1028 – SOUTH ELEVATION, COORIDOR – SOUTH ELEVATION, BOH PANTRY – NORTH ELEVATION. 
When I create cabinet shop drawings like this, my goal is to understand the architect’s design intent, based on his contract drawings, and then create fabrication drawings that capture his design intent in a constructible way. Different architects will provide different levels of detail in their contract drawings. So my job is to make sure I fill in any missing details in a clear and buildable way. I’m the bridge between the architect and the fabricator.
The Project Background
I was hired by a New York City contractor to create millwork shop drawings for the CFA Society New York’s office remodel. Their office is located in Manhattan, NY. Various millwork pieces were included in my scope of work. For this project I was required to create millwork shop drawings of the Cafe Credenza with Adjustable Shelving, Conference Room Cabinet, Reception Counter, Banquette Seat at Cafe Area, Cafe BOH Pantry Counter and Cabinetry, and Cafe Pantry Counter with Sink, per the architect’s contract drawings that were provided to me.My Millwork Shop Drawings
I created shops for many pieces on this project. Below is one of the pieces. The conference room cabinetry shop drawing I created. (Note: Click image to launch PDF.) The conference room cabinetry materials included solid surface corian polished calacatta natura counters, 3/4″ MDF skirting, laminated 3/4″ thick MDF door face panels, pull out door panels. and adjustable shelving, Rajack hardware, fully adjustable metal hinges with soft close by Blum or equal, Hafele side mount single waste bin, 3/4″ thick marine plywood substrate support under counters, laminated 3/4″ thick MDF pull out shutters, solid wood support framing, and Wilsonart indigo laminated cement matte finish for the veneer.
